Women's Soccer drops non league tilt at WNE 3-0

Springfield, MA- The Western New England women's soccer team scored a pair of first half goals and cruised past the MCLA Trailblazers 3-0 this afternoon in non league action.  The Golden Bears are now 3-8-2 overall on the season.  MCLA drops to 1-9.

Western New England didn't take long to get on the scoreboard as Alicia Lewis knocked home a Katelyn Cummings feed in the 8th minute for a quick 1-0 lead.  Just five minutes later, Brooke Labrie would convert making it 2-0.  Lewis and Jessica Burke were credited with the assist.

The Golden Bears controlled the opening half of play outshooting MCLA 9-1.

MCLA kept WNE off the scoreboard for most of the closing half until Cummings scored unassisted in the 81st minute to close out the scoring.  WNE outshot MCLA 15-3 on the afternoon and owned a 9-0 edge in corners.

Briana Kubik earned the win in net stopping both shots she saw.

MCLA's Katy Daly took the loss collecting four saves.

The Trailblazers are back in action on Saturday when they host Worcester State at Shewcraft Field kicking off at 1pm.
