Raber earns her 100th win as Trailblazer head coach in 2-0 win over previously unbeaten SUNY Poly

North Adams, MA- Women's Soccer head coach Deb Raber recorded her 100th career win at MCLA as her Trailblazers knocked off previously unbeaten SUNY Poly 2-0 this evening at Shewcraft Field.  Raber coached five years at Castleton in the mid 1990's before taking over the Trailblazer program in 2000.  She has tallied 134 wins in her 21 year coaching career.

The historic night wasn't just for Coach Raber.  It also marked the first night game in school history for the women's soccer program after the completion of the Shewcraft Field Lights initiative.

With the win, MCLA moves to 2-2-2 on the season.  Poly entered the match unbeaten but now stands at 7-1-1 overall.

After a scoreless first half, MCLA's Kaylyn Holliday scored her first collegiate goal in the 49th minute when she converted a Hannah Sorensen feed for a 1-0 advantage.  The Trailblazers would seek an insurance tally to give Raber the milestone win and the coach got one from a familiar face.

Senior Natalie Caney, who has tallied over 20 goals in her career, added her first of the season in the 70th minute to put the game out of reach.  Kayla Lingel got the assist with a nice feed.

From there, the Trailblazer defense would stand tall.  Trailblazer net minder Megan Richardson would record her fourth shutout of the season stopping seven shots in the process.

SUNY Poly would hold a slim 15-14 shot advantage over the hosts and a 4-2 edge in corner kicks.

Angela Bartlett took the loss for Poly also collecting 7 saves in defeat.

MCLA is back in action on Saturday afternoon when they seek their first MASCAC win at Salem State.
