Prouty named MASCAC rookie of the week
North Adams, MA- MCLA first year forward Shannon Prouty has been tabbed the MASCAC rookie of the week following her performance against Fitchburg State on Saturday. Nicole Chretien of Westfield State was tabbed the player of the week.
Prouty came off the bench and scored late in the second half against Fitchburg State helping secure the Trailblazers third win in a row. The goal was the first in her collegiate career as the first year player from Leicester continues to find her stride.
MCLA shutout the Falcons and have put themselves back in the thick of the postseason race as they sit at 2-3 heading into a pair of matches this week. The Trailblazers face non league foe Albany College of Pharmacy on Tuesday before hosting Salem State on Saturday, which is also senior day.
