Women's Soccer earns first MASCAC win with 2-0 decision over MMA

North Adams, MA- MCLA's Hannah Van de Water scored the game winner in the 57th minute and the Trailblazers extended the lead with an own goal late in the contest to earn a 2-0 MASCAC victory over the visiting Massachusetts Maritime women's soccer team.  The win snapped a six game slide for the Trailblazers as they improve to 2-7 overall and are now 1-2 in the conference.

MMA falls to 1-7 overall and is 0-3 in the MASCAC.

Van de Water broke open a scoreless contest with her third goal of the season.  She collected a pass from Lauren Mangiardi and converted to lift her team to a 1-0 lead.  The score would remain that way until late in the contest.

In the 88th minute, MCLA pressured the Bucs and were credited with an own goal to put the game out of reach.

The Trailblazers were outshot by the visiting Buccaneers 18-12, but Megan Richardson was outstanding once again in goal.  She collected 11 saves to earn her second win of the season.

Mikayla Houlihan was credited with the loss but stopped 5 shots for MMA.

MCLA is back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Cobleskill for a non league matchup.
