Women's Soccer earns Silver Award for Ethics and Sportsmanship from United Soccer

North Adams, MA- For the sixteenth time under the leadership of head coach Deb Raber, the MCLA Women's Soccer program was recognized by the United Soccer Coaches Association with the Ethics and Sportsmanship award.  Teams are eligible for Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze award from the organization.  In 2018, the Trailblazers earned the "Silver" award.

The Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award was created to recognize teams that exhibit fair play, sporting behavior, and adherence to the laws of the game.

The Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award is given to United Soccer Coaches members at four levels. Teams honored at the platinum level went an entire season without a player or coach receiving a yellow card or red card. Teams honored at the gold (1-10%), silver (11-30%) and bronze (31-50%) levels are based on a percentage calculated by the total number of cards received by players/coaches divided by the team's total number of games played.

Platinum Award: 0 Yellow Cards, 0 Red Cards
Gold Award: 1-10%
Silver Award: 11-30%
Bronze Award: 31-50%

The honor for the program is no stranger to MCLA.  The Trailblazers have earned 16 ethics honors during Raber's tenure.  MCLA joins Salem State as the only MASCAC schools to record the "Silver" status.

Raber led the Trailblazers to six wins this season.
