MCLA Tennis blanked at Bay Path 9-0
Longmeadow, MA- The MCLA Women's Tennis team suffered a 9-0 defeat this afternoon at the hands of Bay Path. The loss drops the Trailblazers to 1-2 overall on the season.
MCLA battled hard in the top two doubles slots, but ultimately fell to the Wildcats in both matches 8-6. The top duo of Kelley Bryant and Stephanie Giardina fell as did the team of Danielle Wiencek and Rebecca Waterhouse.
With the Wildcats holding a 3-0 edge after doubles, MCLA needed to rally in singles. Giardina battled to a third set, but lost the tiebreaker 10-3 in the second singles match. Waterhouse was also game falling in the third set 10-4. All other matches were straight set victories for Bay Path.
The Trailblazers are back in action on Monday when they will host Western New England University at the Zavattaro complex at 3:30pm.
