Mikutowicz sweeps NAC Player and Rookie of the Week honors

North Adams, MA- MCLA freshman tennis player Sarah Mikutowicz swept the NAC Player and Rookie of the Week honors following her performance in the Trailblazers win over Becker. The award marks the first time a Trailblazer has earned the award since joining the NAC.
The honor was announced this afternoon by NAC officials.
The award came in Mikutowicz' first ever collegiate match as a Trailblazer. She joined three other newcomers who helped MCLA earn the season opening victory.
Mikutowicz teamed with Sarah Murphy in the top doubles slot to earn the first point of the afternoon with an 8-3 triumph over Becker's Jennifer Lord and Jacqueline Andrade. She would then move into the second singles slot where she would once again prevail over Andrade in straight sets 6-2, 6-2.
Mikutowicz and the Trailblazers are off until Friday when they will host Worcester State.
