Murphy earns NAC player of the week honors in women's tennis
North Adams, MA- Trailblazer Sarah Murphy became the second MCLA tennis player to claim the NAC player of the week following a 2-0 performance against Lyndon State on Saturday. The league announced the honors late this afternoon.
Murphy helped lead the Trailblazers to their first conference win, as the team defeated Lyndon State 8-1 on the road. The senior claimed a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 2 singles and an 8-3 victory at No. 1 doubles with partner Sarah Mikutowicz.
Murphy joins Mikutowicz as the duo both have player of the week honors to their credit. Murphy has been an integral part of the Trailblazer tennis program over the last few seasons.
The Trailblazers have a busy week on tap as they host NAC foe Green Mountain tomorrow, followed by a road match at Sage on Wednesday. They wrap up the week with a key NAC match at home on Saturday against Thomas.
