Tennis falls to Husson 6-3 in final NAC match of season

Gorham, ME- The MCLA Women's Tennis team fell 6-3 this afternoon to Husson in the final NAC match of the season for both teams.  Husson advances to next week's postseason tournament while MCLA drops to 6-6 overall and finishes at 3-4 in NAC play.

Emily Deaso earned a pair of points for MCLA winning in the top singles and doubles slots.  She teamed with Mariza Sfakianaki in doubles to win 8-3 before besting Husson's Meredith Blessard 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 in singles.

Husson took the remaining doubles matches to grab an early 2-1 edge heading into singles play.  MCLA's Sfakianaki was the only other Trailblazer to win in singles as she prevailed in the third slot winning 4-6, 6-2, 6-2.  Husson won the other matches in straight sets.

MCLA needed a victory to keep any playoff hopes alive.  The Trailblazers do have a non league matchup with Anna Maria scheduled for this week.
