Bryant selected to lead both Tennis programs at MCLA

North Adams, MA--MCLA Director of Athletics Laura Mooney has announced that Stephen Bryant has been selected to lead both the men's and women's tennis programs at MCLA. Bryant replaces Trevor Grimshaw, who coached both programs one year ago.

Bryant comes to MCLA after serving as the boys varsity coach at Mount Greylock High School. He served in that capacity for the last seven seasons. During that span, his teams won four Western Massachusetts championships, including the last three years. He has served as a tennis instructor for the last 10-plus years, mainly serving northern Berkshire County.

Mooney says she is excited to see what Bryant can do with each program, given his recent success at Mount Greylock. "Stephen's proven success in transforming teams into championship caliber will provide solid direction for our tennis programs," she said.

Bryant will inherit a pair of programs that have been in contention for playoff bids in the North Atlantic Conference. Last season, the women's team finished 6-5 overall and were 4-3 in conference play. The men finished their season at 4-7 overall and were 3-3 in the NAC after advancing to the semifinal round of the tournament.

Bryant isn't a stranger to MCLA; he is a 2006 graduate.  He received his degree in Business Administration.
