Tennis defeats Lyndon in non conference action 7-2

North Adams, MA- The MCLA women's tennis team defeated Northern Vermont University at Lyndon 7-2 at the complex this afternoon.  The Trailblazers up their record to 3-4.  The Hornets fall to 3-6 on the season.

The hosts swept through doubles play to take a commanding edge.  Briana Higgins and Mackenna Jordan rolled to an 8-2 win over Emilie Dube and Oo Mai Be in the top slot.  MCLA's Jessica Dupont and Alyssa Keegan cruised to an 8-3 win over Savannah Jackson and Faibe Achinda in the second doubles slot for another point.  McKenna Clark and Samantha Schwantner blanked Renee Chaples and Hailey Demers in the third doubles slot.

In singles play, Higgins, Jordan, Clark, and Keegan all earned their second points of the day.  Each won in straight sets.

NVU-Lyndon took the points in the top singles slot as Dube defeated Dupont in a competitive match 6-4, 5-7, 10-5.  Xiao Chun Li would collect the Hornets final point in the sixth singles slot.

MCLA is slated to challenge Worcester State tomorrow at home, weather permitting.  Both teams will hook up again this weekend, this time in NAC action.  The rematch will be played in Vermont.
