Mount Holyoke bests Volleyball 3-0

Holyoke, MA- The MCLA Trailblazers Volleyball program traveled to Mount Holyoke on Tuesday night.  The host Lyons came away with a 3-0 victory over MCLA as they improved to 2-3 on the season.  The Trailblazers even their mark at 2-2 with the loss.

Rachel Mills was outstanding for MCLA collecting a team best 13 kills on 27 attacks.  Samantha Anderson added 5 kills in defeat, while Jackie Paluilis collected 13 digs.  Chanelle Enomoto earned 13 assists.

The Lyons took the opening game 25-18.  The Trailblazers were nipped in game two 26-24 while MHC closed the match with a 25-22 win in the third set.

The Lyons had a balanced attack with Rebecca Bland and Katrina Meserve each leading the team with 6 kills.  Natalie Lyon was setting them up all night as she collected 32 assists.  Kaleen Iwerna and Susie Gardiner collected 13 and 10 digs respectively.

MCLA was hampered by 20 attack errors and five service errors.  The Trailblazers hit only .116 in the match.

The Trailblazers are back in action on Thursday night when they face Smith College.
