Trailblazers Volleyball Drops MASCAC Game to Rams

The MCLA Trailblazers volleyball team dropped their second straight conference match Wednesday night by a score of 3-0 to the Framingham State Rams. The Rams sit atop the conference with a perfect 3-0 record in league play, they moved to 13-4 overall.

MCLA drops to 8-6 and 0-2 in league play. The Trailblazers have been faced with having too open conference play against the top two teams in the league, as they played second place Worcester St. this past Saturday.

Framingham took control early in game one behind strong play at the net from Annie Deloid and Alycia Rackliffe. The duo came out strong with several kills early to give the Rams momentum. MCLA had its moments in game one as Margaret Allen was particularly strong blocking one Rackliffe attack and deflecting several others allowing MCLA to keep balls alive. Allen herself had three kills in the first game, but the Rams were too tough and they pulled away to win game one 25-17.

Game two was back and forth throughout as Rachel Mills begun to assert herself. Mills had three of her six kills in game two. Julia Wan was strong for the Rams though, Wan had five kills in the game and the Rams deep front line closed out game two 25-21.

The Rams carried game three as well by a score of 25-15. Deloid led the Rams with eleven kills and Wan had eight kills and a game-high thirteen digs.

MCLA had its moments against the Rams and Allen led the way with seven kills. Sam Anderson added six in defeat. Mills also added ten digs for the Trailblazers. Courtney Parent had a game-high eleven assists.

Framingham will travel to Eastern Connecticut this Saturday for a tri-match beginning at noon. MCLA will head to Norwich for a tri-match Saturday that begins at 2:00pm.
