Beckwith Earns 100th Victory in Senior Day Sweep

The Trailblazers earned a pair of victories Saturday over MASCAC foe Salem State and Umass-Dartmouth. Coach Amanda Beckwith collected her 100th career victory with the win over the Vikings in the first match of the day.

Rachel Mills and Sam Anderson led a balanced attack with eleven kills and Courtney Parent piled up fourteen assists in the 3-0 win. Senior Allie Chang had some spectacular digs and had a game-high sixteen; Chang also earned her 1,000th career dig early in the match. Fellow senior Jackie Paluilis added eleven digs in game one.

Emily Peay paced the Vikings with fifteen kills and Jerika Santiago had sixteen digs.

Umass-Dartmouth defeated the Vikings in a five-set thriller in the second match of the afternoon. The Corsairs rallied from down 2-1 in games to win 25-20 in game four and 15-6 in the decisive game.

Peay again led the Vikings with eighteen kills.

Eliza Bowes had twelve kills for the Corsairs and Brianna Perry added nineteen digs.

The Final match of the afternoon featured the final home game for four Trailblazer seniors. Amanda Fleming and Darien Quick along with Chang and Paluilis wrapped up the regular season part of their home schedule.

Anderson once again led the team in kills and Chang finished with nineteen digs in the 3-1 victory.

Jasmine Burris had thirteen kills for Umass-Dartmouth. The Corsairs are now 10-12 on the season. Salem State falls to 3-12 and 0-4 in the MASCAC. MCLA is 13-8 and 2-2 in conference play.

Umass-Dartmouth will play at Lesley Monday night at 8:00pm. Salem State will host Mass. Maritime Wednesday at 7:00pm. The Trailblazers will play next at Westfield State on Wednesday at 7:00pm.
