Volleyball drops nail biter with Cobleskill 3-2
Cobleskill, NY- The MCLA Volleyball team hit the road tonight kicking off a tournament weekend at Cobleskill battling the host school. Cobleskill took the first two games before MCLA rallied by winning the next two forcing a deciding fifth set. The Fighting Tigers held off MCLA 15-13 in the final set to earn the victory 3-2 over the Trailblazers.
The Fighting Tigers snapped an eleven game losing streak as they improve to 11-17 on the season. MCLA drops their second straight in falling to 13-10 on the season.
Cobleskill opened the match by earning tight victories 27-25 and 25-22 in the opening sets. MCLA rallied to take the next two by margins of 25-22 and 25-20.
MCLA was paced by sophomore Rachel Mills who collected 12 kills and 12 digs in defeat. Margaret Allen contributed 10 kills and 3 blocks. Courtney Parent chipped in with 25 assists.
The Trailblazers are back in action early tomorrow as they battle King's (PA) at 9am followed by Rutgers-Newark at 1pm.
