Volleyball ties program mark with 15th win as they defeat Lyndon State 3-2

Lyndon, VT- The MCLA women's volleyball program tied a school record by recording their 15th win of the season in a 3-2 win over Lyndon State Tuesday night.  With the win, the Trailblazers improve their season record to 15-6 and snapped a three game slide in the process.  Lyndon falls to 3-8.

The Trailblazers took the first two sets (25-20, 25-20) and appeared poised to walk away with the win.  The Hornets would take the third set 25-21 and then stay alive with a 31-29 win in set four forcing a winner take all set.  MCLA would claim the match with a 15-11 win in the fifth.

MCLA had three players with double digit kills on the night.  Margaret Allen ended with 11 kills to lead the team, while Rachel Mills and Sam Anderson each had 10.  Anderson also finished with 6 blocks.  Beatrice Lechler tallied 20 assists while Taylor Wiese had a season best 17 for MCLA.

Brittney Pihl paced the defense with 13 digs while Lechler ended with 12.

The Trailblazers will look to set the program mark on Thursday when they travel to Sage for a 7pm match.
