Trailblazer rally falls short as Volleyball drops 3-2 decision to Wells

North Adams, MA- The MCLA Volleyball team dug a deep hole after dropping the opening two sets, however they would rally and force a fifth set but ultimately fell to the visiting Wells Express 3-2.  With the setback, MCLA split the tri match and stand at 10-12 while the Express pick up a pair of wins and are now 14-5.

Wells cruised through the first two sets 25-15 and 25-16 before MCLA came alive.  The Trailblazers would get back in the match with a 25-12 third set win before a 25-23 triumph in the fourth set.  The visitors would quickly seize control of the fifth and deciding set and pull away for a 15-9 clinching win.

The Trailblazers received a great performance from Allison Clark as the senior had team bests of 15 kills and 23 digs in defeat.  Rebecca Godbout also notched a double double with 11 kills and 18 digs for MCLA.  Beatrice Lechler and Taylor Wiese combined for 33 assists out of the setter's position.

Wells placed four hitters in double figures with Anuhea Leite-Ah Yo leading the way with 12 kills.  Olyvia Brazier and Meredith Kadjeski each ended with 11 while Jackie Allen had 10.  Setting the offense up all night was Eliza Schwab who had a match best 43 assists to go along with 20 digs.  Kasie Stamp ended with 19 digs while Nadine Pershyn added 17.

MCLA is back in action on Tuesday night when they host Framingham State in MASCAC play.
