Volleyball can't keep up with Framingham in 3-0 MASCAC loss

North Adams, MA- The visiting Framingham State volleyball program got 34 assists from Mackenzie Whalen and a match best 16 kills from Alycia Rackliffe as they eased past the MCLA Trailblazers 3-0 this evening in a MASCAC matchup.  The Rams improve to 13-9 on the season and lead the pack in the conference standings at 4-0.  MCLA drops to 10-13 on the season and are now 1-2 in league play.

The Rams jumped out a large first set lead led by Rackliffe and Whalen as they would cruise to a 25-15 set win.  Rackliffe hammered home 7 kills in the opening set for the Rams.  FSU would then win the second set 25-17 before closing out MCLA 25-15 in the third.

Rackliffe earned her 16 kills on just 33 attacks for a solid hitting percentage of .394.  Whalen was great in setting up the offense as she fed Rackliffe, Julia Wan (8 kills), and Sarah Leonard (4 kills) all night.  Deirdre Fay and Leonard each had 12 digs to lead the Ram defense in the win. 

For the Trailblazers, they were paced by Allison Clark's team high 8 kills.  MCLA was hampered by 24 attack errors in the loss compared to just 11 for the Rams.  Michelle Laga was productive out of the libero spot collecting 14 digs while Clark added 10.  Beatrice Lechler would finish with 13 assists.

MCLA will be back in action on Thursday night when they host St. Joseph (CT) at 7pm on senior night.  The Rams will have a tri match in Newton on Saturday facing Emmanuel and Lasell.
