Volleyball takes down Elms in 5 sets

North Adams, MA- After dropping the first set to the visiting Blazers 25-23, MCLA would battle back to take the next two, 25-14 and 25-20 before ultimately needing a fifth which they would win 15-10 to finally clinch the victory over visiting Elms College in a nonconference match played this afternoon at the Amsler Campus Center.

With the win the Trailblazers improve to 4-11 while Elms who earlier dropped another tough five setter to Salem State drops to 7-6.

Brooke Queripel was impressive in the win with 22 kills while adding 12 digs. Mele Enomoto had 28 digs; just one short of her season-high which she set earlier in the afternoon in a four set win over MASCAC rival Salem State. Natasha Stewart (21 assists) and Tessa Sestito (16 assists) were also instrumental in the Trailblazers victory.

For Elms Danielle Redding led the way with 17 kills, Dakota Stewart added 39 assists and Ayanna Meadows led the team with 18 digs.

Elms will next travel to Quincy, MA to take on Eastern Nazarene College this Wednesday evening. MCLA will also hit the road this week as they will travel to Worcester State for an important MASCAC matchup this Thursday at 6pm.
