Volleyball falls to Sage in three sets

Troy, NY- The Sage College Volleyball team upended the MCLA Trailblazers tonight 3-0 in non conference action.  With the win, the Gators improve to 6-16 overall while MCLA falls to 5-13.

The Gators took the first set 25-17 before winning the second 25-19.  They would close out the match in convincing fashion 25-13 to earn the win.

MCLA struggled hitting all night posting just 22 kills while also having 21 attack errors.  The Trailblazers were paced on offense by Brooke Queripel, who ended with a team best 7 kills on 23 attacks.  Natasha Stewart ended with 11 assists.

The defense was led by Mele Enomoto's team high 13 digs while Michelle Laga added 10 more.

Sage had a balanced offense with three players recording at least 7 kills.  Jessica Carrozzi led all players with 8 kills while teammates Gabby Rowell and Miranda Nethaway each had 7.  Brittany Orminski and Alyssa Nellis set up the offense combining for 31 assists.

Defensively for the Gators, Missy Schneiderman had 13 digs and Orminski added 11 to complete the double double.

MCLA is off until Tuesday when they travel to Westfield State to continue MASCAC play.
