Volleyball falls in nightcap to Eastern Connecticut 3-0

North Adams, MA- The Eastern Connecticut volleyball team got 27 kills from Alaetra Long and Carly Balskus as they cruised past the MCLA Trailblazers 3-0 this evening at the Amsler Campus Center.  The Warriors improve to 15-6 with the win while MCLA drops to 7-15 overall.

The Warriors had to battle with the Trailblazers in the opening set but ultimately prevailed 25-22.  They would cruise in the second set winning 25-13, before closing out the match with a 25-16 win in the third.

Balskus was outstanding collecting her 13 kills on just 27 attacks.  Aleatra Long added 14 kills on just 21 attacks as the Warriors hit a solid .286 on the evening.  Abby Stern notched 9 kills and 8 digs for ECSU.  Mckenzie Maneggia dished out 19 assists while teammate Leah Sopneski added 13.  Libero Michelle Valliere had 14 digs to lead the defense.

For MCLA, they were paced by Brooke Queripel's six kills.  MCLA hit just .036 in the nightcap and committed 18 attack errors.

Tayler Wiese had 9 assists while Michelle Laga had 9 digs in defeat.  

MCLA is off until Wednesday when they travel to Fitchburg State.
