Volleyball falls to Rams in MASCAC opener 3-0

North Adams, MA- Framingham State's Brandee Thomas came off the bench to record a match best 17 kills on 27 attacks to lead the visiting Rams to a convincing 3-0 win over the MCLA Trailblazers in the Amsler Campus Center Gym.  The Rams are now 4-3 overall and 1-0 in the conference.  The Trailblazers even their mark at 4-4 and are 0-1 in the league.

The Rams battled hard in the opening set but ultimately prevailed 25-19.  They would cruise in the final two sets closing out MCLA 25-9 in the second and 25-11 in the third.

Thomas was a handful all night as Mackenzie Whalen constantly set up the offense.  Whalen ended with a match best 28 assists for the Rams.  Grace Caughey ended her night with 11 kills to join Thomas in double figures.

The Rams were tough defensively as well as libero Alyssa Cafarelli collected 16 digs while Deirdre Fay added 12 for Framingham.

MCLA was paced by Sara LaFreniere's team best 6 kills.  She also collected 9 digs.  Mackenna Jordan ended with 16 digs for the hosts while Tessa Sestito notched 9 digs and 7 assists.

The Rams head to Western New England on Thursday night.  MCLA is off until Saturday when they host a tri match with Becker and Bay Path starting at 11am.
