Volleyball falls to New England College 3-1 at home

North Adams, MA- The visiting New England College volleyball team snapped a nine game losing streak as they defeated the MCLA Trailblazers 3-1 this evening in the Amsler Campus Center Gym.  The Pilgrims improve to 3-11 on the season while MCLA drops to 6-5.

The visitors took command early in the first set jumping out to a double digit lead before settling on a 25-15 set one win.  The Trailblazers would respond by taking the second set 25-18 to even things up, but NEC had the answer.  The won the pivotal third set 25-21 before ending the match 25-17 in the fourth.

Offensively the Pilgrims had four players collect as least six kills.  They were paced by Tihani Ehia and Dreka Griffin's eight kills.  Jada Small and Jessica Ostrov each added 6.  Libero Meaghan Six collected 20 digs and added 7 assists.  Maggie Dadmun led the team with 10 assists in the win.  The Pilgrims were aided by 13 aces on the night.

MCLA was paced offensively by first year player Laiken Cornwell-L'Hote who ended with a season best 10 kills.  Tessa Sestito filled the stat sheet with 16 assists and 10 digs.  Beatrice Lechler came off the bench to collect 14 digs and 9 assists in the setback.  She added four aces.

The Trailblazers are back in action on Saturday when they head to Salem State for a tri match and continue conference play.
