Moczulski, Sestito lead Volleyball past Sage 3-0

North Adams, MA- The MCLA Volleyball team continued their winning ways as they defeated the Sage College Gators 3-0 this evening in the Amsler Campus Center.  Kelly Moczulski collected a match best 15 kills while Tessa Sestito tied a career high with 36 assists in the win.

MCLA is now 12-6 on the season.  The Gators fall to 4-17.

The Trailblazers came out firing in the opening set as Moczulski set the tone.  MCLA would open up a 17-9 lead, but Sage would rally.  Sage cut the deficit to 20-19 on a Megan Ryder kill, but the Gator momentum was stunted by a serving error.  MCLA couldn't put the Gators away however, as they ultimately tied the set at 24-24.  After trading points, MCLA finally got the set win on a Reagan Scattergood kill and an ace from Moczulski to take the opening set 27-25.

MCLA pulled away in the second set and ultimately took down Sage 25-16 to grab a commanding 2-0 lead heading to the third set.

In the third, MCLA led 24-20 before Sage put one final scare into the hosts.  They would grab the next three points to climb within 24-23, but Sestito set up Madison Jayne for a kill to win the set and ultimately the match.

MCLA's Moczulski collected her 15 kills on 36 attacks.  She added 15 digs in the win.  Ahna Schlaefer collected 8 kills and 13 digs to compliment her.  Sestito added 8 digs to her career best assist night.  Natasha Stewart ended with a team best 19 digs on defense.

The Gators were led by Emma Parkington's team best 9 kills.  She also added 13 digs in defeat.  Ryder added 7 kills and 19 digs.

The Trailblazers are back in action on Saturday when they head to Keene State for a tri-match with Plymouth State.
