Cross Country wraps up 2017 meet schedule at NCAA New England Championships

2017 NCAA New England Regional Results

Gorham, ME- The MCLA Cross Country programs traveled up to Southern Maine University this morning to compete in the NCAA New England regional championships.  The Trailblazer men finished in 36th place while the women's team ended in 55th.

The MIT men's and women's teams claimed the regional titles.  The MIT men edged out Amherst, Middlebury, and Williams to secure their trip to the NCAA National Championship meet.  The MIT women outran Tufts, Williams, and Middlebury to punch their ticket.

In the Men's 8k race, the Trailblazers were led by Jeremiah Jones.  Jones covered the track in 28:54 which placed him 172nd in the meet.  Christopher Gamble was next across the line in 204th place, roughly 30 seconds behind Jones.

Other Trailblazer runners in the Men's race were Avery Woodbury, Corey Powers, Owen Fitzgerald, Theodore Jones, and Paul Davila.

In the women's 5k race, MCLA was paced by Julie Gambill.  She ran the course in 25:34 to lead the team.  Kaitlin Wright was next across for MCLA.

Rounding out the women competing were Jordan DeGaetano, Breanna Castor, and Hunter Schrade.
