Rachel Quackenbush, Softball

Quackenbush enters her final season in a Trailblazer uniform having rewritten the record books at MCLA.  The senior fire baller has set the single season and career strikeout record at MCLA and last year led the program to their first ever MASCAC tournament championship along with an appearance in the NCAA tournament for the first time since 1995.

Quackenbush transferred into MCLA from Siena in the Spring of 2013.  Her impact was immediate as she threw 14 complete games and earned a career best 11 wins that inaugural season.  She sported a 1.32 ERA and allowed just 83 hits in 122 innings pitched.

The next two seasons were equally as impressive.  The right hander tossed a combined 277 innings for MCLA which included 29 complete games.  She set the single season strikeout record as a sophomore with 198 K's and owns the career mark which currently stands at 530.

Quackenbush is also a threat at the plate for MCLA.  She batted a career best .288 last season driving in 22 runs in the process.  She also belted 4 home runs as a junior while leading the program into the NCAA tournament.

Quackenbush and her teammates are ready to defend the MASCAC title and earn a return trip to the NCAA's.  The Trailblazers were selected to finish first in the conference's preseason poll and the team opens up play on Saturday in Clermont, Fl.
