MCLA announces inductees to the 2016 Athletics Hall of Fame

North Adams, MA- The MCLA Athletics department has announced their induction class into the 2016 Hall of Fame.  This year's class will include five former athletes spear headed by women's soccer all time leading scorer Jess (Tietgens) Langenback.  The induction ceremony will be held on Saturday, October 15th at the Holiday Inn in downtown North Adams.

Joining Langenback in this year's class is Bill Fitzpatrick (Baseball), Murales Louis (Men's Basketball), Amy Strand (Women's Basketball), and Eddie Pires (Men's Soccer).

The enshrinement will take place as a part of reunion weekend at MCLA.  The Hall of Fame ceremony requires pre-registration and can be done by clicking below:

Here is a look at this year's class:

Jess (Tietgens) Langenback- Class of 2011 (Women's Soccer)

The all-time leading scorer in program history, she amassed a whopping 199 points throughout her career.  Set a single season record for goals with 30 as a sophomore and led MCLA to a regular season championship in 2011.  Was named the MASCAC rookie of the year and made all conference four straight seasons.  Also an All New England selection for two years.

Amy Strand- Class of 1998 (Women's Basketball)

A member of the 1,000 point club, she also ranks near the all time leaders in rebounding.  Strand set a school record for blocked shots as well and three times collected over 100.  Was an all MASCAC selection in 1997

Bill Fitzpatrick- (Baseball)

Holds the school record for wins with 25 victories in his four year career.  Was named an All New England selection in 1986 and 1987.  His career ERA is 3.40 and he was a member of three NCAA tournament teams/MASCAC championships. 

Murales Louis- Class of 2001 (Men's Basketball)

Louis was a member of the last championship team in men's basketball in 1999.  A two time all-conference selection, he ranks fourth all time at the college in scoring and rebounding.  Played in over 100 games during his career.

Eddie Pires- Class of 1998 (Men's Soccer)

Pires was an All New England selection during his time in North Adams.  He was also selected to the All MASCAC team on two occasions and was a member of championship teams.
