SGA and Athletics introduce "Trailblazer" to the campus community

North Adams, MA- Back in September of 2013, MCLA unveiled a new logo that introduced our students and fan base to the new MCLA Trailblazers.  Over the course of the next few years, the institution had solicited ideas and concepts to create a mascot for the department.  With the assistance of the Student Government Association (SGA), the Athletics department is proud to introduce to you our new Trailblazer mascot!

The mascot will be an integral part of the athletics program going forward.  Students, fans, and community members can look forward to seeing "Trailblazer" at various athletic contests, collegiate functions, and community events throughout the year.

SGA funded the project so the student body can embrace school spirit and a sense of pride in "Trailblazer".  The "Trailblazer" will be prevalent at many student functions at MCLA.  In the coming year, there will be opportunities for the campus community to officially name the mascot.

On behalf of the Athletics department, we'd like to thank SGA for their efforts in bringing the mascot to life.  We look forward to seeing "Trailblazer" at various events throughout the semester.  The student's first chance to meet "Trailblazer" will be next Friday, April 7 as part of the department's D-III Week celebration.  "Trailblazer" will be on hand for photo opportunities between 11am-1pm in the marketplace.
