2017 Golf Classic to honor Dick Lamb and Holly Taylor; Registration now open for August 7th event

North Adams, MA- The MCLA Athletics department has announced that Dick Lamb and Holly Taylor have been named honorees for the Golf Classic which has a new date in 2017. The MCLA Golf Classic will be held on Monday, August 7, 2017 at Berkshire Hills Country Club in Pittsfield with all proceeds benefitting the student athletes. Registration is underway as the August date represents a change from previous years as the tournament was typically held in September.
The Lamb/Taylors have been extremely supportive of the College as well as impacting the Berkshire County community. Lamb is a Foundation corporator; former Foundation Board director, and former MCLA trustee. Taylor recently retired as the President of True North Insurance (now MountainOne Insurance) and has been a constant supporter of MCLA as well.
The 18 hole scramble event is the department's primary fundraiser. In the last twenty years, the Golf Classic has brought together community businesses, alumni, and friends from all over Berkshire County in support of MCLA's student athletes. Last year's event raised over $19,000 for the department.
Over the years, the Classic has aided our student athletes by offsetting travel costs, capital equipment purchases within the department, and creating scheduling opportunities for the athletes. The Golf Classic has become a showcase event for MCLA Athletics while serving as a community event for the College as well.
There are many opportunities to support the MCLA Golf Classic. Interested parties can register to play as individuals or grab a foursome, sign up for a sponsorship, or provide a raffle gift. We expect a full field of 144 golfers in 2017 and registration will be open on a first come, first serve basis.
The cost to play in the event is $150 which includes golf, cart, dinner, gift, and prizes.
