Bio

Michael Mason ’77-79, Soccer

Mike Mason was an integral part of three straight NCAA tournament teams while in school.  He was a part of the 1978 team that advance to the National Semi-Finals, while his 1979 squad won the MASCAC championship.  He was an All New England selection for his performance during the '78 campaign.  During his final season in '79, Mason produced solid numbers of seven goals and six assists under head coach Ron Shewcraft.

After graduation, Mason started raising a family and got into coaching at various levels.  Upon retirement from playing, Mason turned his attention to officiating, where he quickly moved up the ranks into collegiate soccer.  He also began his own business to work with various athletes as a fitness instructor.

During this time, he met his wife Angelia.  Mason has four children, as well as four grandchildren.  Currently, he and his wife own a construction and design business and reside in West Springfield.  They both enjoy working outdoors and vacationing, in hopes of retiring near the ocean.
