Benoit adds ECAC Player of the Week to his weekly honors
North Adams, MA- MCLA senior first baseman Tyler Benoit has had an impressive week. After being named the MASCAC player of the week on Monday, he added the ECAC New England honor this afternoon. It marks the first time in Benoit's career that he has earned the honor.
Benoit helped lead MCLA to a 4-2 mark over the last six games of the Florida swing. He batted an impressive .667 (10-15) while driving in seven runs and scoring six times. He currently leads the conference in batting early on and leads the team in home runs, doubles, and RBI.
In a doubleheader sweep of Colby Sawyer, Benoit was a perfect 6-6 with three doubles and four RBI as the Trailblazers handled the Chargers 15-2 and 10-8.
Benoit and the Trailblazers will be taking on Salem State this weekend in the MASCAC opener for both clubs. The Vikings claimed the regular season crown last year.
