Men's Basketball drops fourth straight game, fall to Rams

Framingham, MA- Framingham State's Daniel Gould tallied 27 points on 5-6 shooting from beyond the arc in leading the Rams past the MCLA Men's Basketball team 79-57.  With the win, the Rams improve to 4-11 and earn their first MASCAC win as they are now 1-3 in the league.  The Trailblazers drop their fourth straight game in falling to 4-11 and 0-4 in the conference.

Gould was outstanding as he went 8-11 from the floor for the Rams.  Bertholyn Alexandre tallied a double double of 12 points and 14 rebounds for Framingham as well.

The first half saw Framingham control much of the play.  They led by as many as 11 points (23-12) before MCLA gradually clawed back.  The Rams held MCLA to 38% shooting and forced 8 turnovers in the opening twenty minutes.   Tim McCarthy paced the Rams over the first half with 9 points while Gould added 8.  Isshiah Coleman led MCLA with 8 points in the opening frame while Khalil Paul added 7.

In the second half, the Rams wasted little time putting the game away behind Gould.  He scored 19 of his 27 after halftime and Framingham was never threatened from there.  They led by as many as 24 points late in the game.

Khalil Paul paced MCLA with 12 points while Careem Kirksey and Coleman ended with 11 and 10 respectively.  Coleman grabbed 9 rebounds for the Trailblazers.

MCLA was held to 34% shooting while the Rams connected on 47% of their field goal attempts.  FSU owned a slim 40-36 edge off the glass.

The Trailblazers return home on Wednesday when they host Fitchburg State at 7:30pm.
