Wiggins scores season high 26 but Sage runs past MCLA 130-98 in non conference action

Troy, NY- Host Sage College shot a sizzling 70% from the floor and placed six players in double figures as the Gators ran past the MCLA men's basketball team 130-98 this evening in non conference action.  The Gators are now 2-3 on the season while MCLA is still winless at 0-5.

Sage's Davon Sylvester scored a game high 26 points while Marcus Patterson added 24.  Jordan Devaughn scored 20 off the bench while Rob Mills (16), Wayne Weir (15), and Chanse Watson (11) all finished in double figures.

Sage was unconscious from the floor as they converted 51-73 field goals (70%) and 12-22 from three point range in the rout.  The Gators ran out to a 71-46 halftime advantage and while MCLA got within twenty, the end result was never in doubt.

Sage's bench outscored MCLA 54-20 and the Gators dished out 24 assists as DeVaughn had 6 helpers.

MCLA was paced by Joe Wiggins' season best 26 point effort.  He was 8-16 from the floor and added 4 rebounds.  Keiland Cross added 20 points and 5 assists for the Trailblazers.  Joe Murray had a solid performance collecting 16 points and 13 rebounds.  Nolan Bird ended in double figures with 13 points.

The Trailblazers are back in action on Thursday when they open up at home against Wesleyan at 7pm.
