Cross adds second MASCAC player of the week honors

MASCAC Weekly Release

North Adams, MA- MCLA junior Keiland Cross has been selected as the MASCAC rookie of the week for the second time this season the conference announced earlier today.  Cross took home the honors on November 21st prior to this week's award.  Fitchburg State's Jalen Williams was tabbed as the player of the week.

Cross has been a bright spot on an otherwise tough start to the 2016 season for MCLA.  Last week, the junior scored 20 points and handed out 5 assists in a loss to Sage on Tuesday night before posting a 7 point-4 assist effort in a loss to undefeated Wesleyan.

The local product from Pittsfield High School is in his first season in a Trailblazer uniform after competing at the club level for Berkshire Community College last year.  Cross is currently averaging 11 points per game, which ranks him third on the team.

Cross and the Trailblazers will travel to regionally ranked WPI on Tuesday night before hosting the 2016 Tri State Shoot-Out on Friday and Saturday.  MCLA opens play with a game versus RPI Friday night at 6pm.
