Parrott nets career best 17 points but MCLA falls to Dean 87-69

North Adams, MA- The Dean College men's basketball team used a strong second half to pull away from the MCLA Trailblazers 87-69 in non league action at the Amsler Campus Center.  With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 11-8 while the Trailblazers drop to 2-14 on the year.

Dean led just 40-38 at halftime and with 13:40 left to play, the Trailblazers led 51-50 after a Joe Murray free throw.  From there, Dean took over.  They used an 11-0 spurt to seize the lead at 61-51 and MCLA would cut it to eight on numerous occasions, but couldn't get any closer as Dean pulled away late.  The final margin was the largest lead of the night.

The duo of Naquwan Solomon and Dayvon Russell combined for 48 points in the win.  Solomon ended with a game high 25 points and completed the double double with 11 rebounds.  Russell added 23 points on 8-13 shooting and had 4 assists and 3 steals.  Jaquan James added 10 points off the bench for the Bulldogs who shot 44% from the floor in the win.

MCLA was paced by Collin Parrott.  The sophomore netted a career high 17 points in the loss.  Joe Murray finished with a double double of 14 points and 14 rebounds off the bench.  Joe Wiggins ended with 10 points for the Trailblazers.

MCLA shot just 34% including just 23% in the decisive second half.

The Trailblazers are back in action on Wednesday night when they host Bridgewater State in MASCAC action.
