Cross named top rookie for sixth time this season

North Adams, MA- On he heels of a 38 point performance against Bridgewater State last Wednesday, MCLA men's basketball standout Keiland Cross was tabbed as the MASCAC rookie of the week.  The honor marks the sixth time this season that Cross has earned the award.

Cross, who is third in the conference in scoring, torched visiting Bridgewater State to the tune of 38 points on Wednesday night.  He collected 21 points in the first half for the Trailblazers to single handedly keep them in the game.  Cross would go on to shoot 9-13 that night including a season best 5-5 from three point land.  He also got to the basket with ease and was sent to the free throw line 17 times where he converted 15 of them. 

Cross would then score 12 first half points against Worcester State on Saturday before being blanked in the second half of play.  On the week, Cross averaged 25 points and 7.5 boards for the Trailblazers.

MCLA is back in action on Wednesday night when they travel to Westfield State to visit the Owls for a 5:30pm tip off.
