Becker claims MASCAC Rookie of the Week honors in Men's Basketball
North Adams, MA-- MCLA first year center Chris Becker (Lake George, NY) has been selected as the MASCAC rookie of the week as the conference published their weekly awards this afternoon. Becker averaged double figures and shot a sizzling 63% from the floor to help MCLA to a 1-1 week. Fitchburg State's Nicholas Tracy was selected as the MASCAC player of the week.
Becker averaged 13 points and 5.5 rebounds while shooting 63 percent from the field (12-19) in a 1-1 week for the Trailblazers. He scored 20 points with five rebounds and a steal in the 95-71 win over Castleton University on 10-of-12 shooting. He ended the week adding six points, six rebounds, and an assist in the 71-70 setback to Becker College.
Becker joins teammate Quentin Gittens as Trailblazers who have earned top rookie nods. Becker currently sits fourth in the MASCAC in Field Goal percentage.
Becker and the Trailblazers are back in action tomorrow night when they host local foe Williams College at 7pm.
