Men's Hoop starts off second half of season with 95-76 win over Norwich

North Adams, MA- MCLA's Chris Becker scored a game high 20 points while teammates Noah Yearsley and Mike Demartinis added 19 and 17 points respectively to lead the Trailblazers to a 95-76 non conference win over the visiting Norwich Cadets.  The win marked the fourth straight for MCLA as they improve to 7-4 overall.  

The Cadets dip to 2-10 on the season.

MCLA never trailed as Becker asserted himself in the opening half.  He scored 16 of his 20 in the opening twenty minutes of action leading the Trailblazers to a 44-36 halftime edge.  MCLA shot 49% in the half.

The Trailblazers quickly extended out to a double digit advantage in the second half.  The lead remained in double figures for most of the half with MCLA leading by as many as 25 late.

Becker was 9-12 from the floor and added 9 rebounds.  Yearsley was outstanding as well going 8-13 shooting for his 19 point night.  Demartinis canned three triples for his 17 point night.  He added 4 rebounds and 5 assists.  The Trailblazers ended the contest shooting 55%, including a 61% clip in the second half.

Norwich was led by Caleb Casinas' 19 points.  He was 6-12 from the floor.  Kyle Booth and Donovan Lewis, Jr added 13 in defeat.  Norwich shot 40% from the floor.

MCLA is off for a week until they challenge Bridgewater State next Saturday to open MASCAC play.
