Becker starts off New Year with fourth MASCAC rookie of the week honor

North Adams, MA- MCLA first year center Chris Becker (Lake George, NY) continued the new year right where he left off as the Trailblazer collected MASCAC rookie of the week honors as announced by the league offices this afternoon. Becker has collected three straight rookie awards and four in total this season.
Salem State's Hakeem Animashaun was selected as the conference's player of the week.
Becker scored 20 points and pulled down 9 rebounds as the Trailblazers collected their fourth straight win to improve to 7-4 with the victory over Norwich on Saturday. The 20 point effort matched his season high as he also reached the mark in a win over Castleton. Becker was outstanding in MCLA's return to action after a three week layoff as he shot 9-12 from the floor.
Becker leads the conference in FG% as he's shooting a torrid 67% on the season.
The Trailblazers are off all week as they will begin conference play with a MASCAC tilt at Bridgewater State on Saturday.
