Egazarian named head golf coach at MCLA

North Adams, MA- MCLA Director of Athletics Laura Mooney has announced that Peter Egazarian has been hired as the head golf coach this afternoon.  Egazarian is a class "A" PGA professional who has been the head teaching professional at Taconic Golf Club for two years.

Egazarian replaces Steve Terpak who coached the last three seasons for the Trailblazers.

"I would like to thank the Athletics Administration for selecting me as the next Men's Head Golf Coach.  It is clear that MCLA is seeking to grow the golf program from the initial support I have been provided, as well as the addition of Berkshire Hills Country Club as a home course," Egazarian stated.  "I would like to thank, Club President Jeff Puleri and the Board of Directors of Berkshire Hills, for being the golf team's host club.  Such an amazing facility will help greatly in growing our current players, as well as attracting quality players in the future.  I look forward to getting to know our current players to better understand how I can provide provide an environment that guides them to be great golfers and even better people."

Egazarian has a long history in the golf industry as he also served as the head professional at Wahconah Country Club in Dalton, MA for two years.  Known for his teaching ability, Egazarian has been a presenter at numerous golf shows and conventions over the last two years, including the Western Massachusetts Golf Expo this past March.

Mooney is excited about the wealth of knowledge and experience that Egazarian brings to the position.  "We are excited to have Peter join the MCLA Athletics staff," Mooney said.  "I am confident his experience as a PGA professional will lead our golf program to future success. 

A graduate of Methodist University in North Carolina, Egazarian earned his degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Professional Golf Management.  The Trailblazers will usher in the Egazarian era on September 1st when they travel over to Cobleskill.
