Westfield, MA- The MCLA Golf team shot a season best 327 this afternoon at the Brett Williamson Invitational hosted by Westfield State University at Tekoa Country Club.  The host Owls won the event with a score of 295.

MCLA had all four golfers shoot 84 or better on the par 71, 6,438 yard layout.

Matt Lawrence continued his strong play with a round of 79 to lead the team.  Liam Nolan and Josh Fortier posted their best scores of 2017 with 82's on the day.  Reese Dwyer checked in with an 84 to round out the Trailblazer scoring.

Kyle Fairbanks of Westfield State shot even par, but was tied with Derek Devereaux and teammate Matteo Godek as they headed to a playoff.  Godek would bogey the second playoff hole to be eliminated, and Fairbanks eventually claimed the individual title with a par on the fourth hole to secure the win.

Thirteen teams competed this morning as MCLA is preparing to host next week's MASCAC championship held at Berkshire Hills Country Club in Pittsfield.
