Men's Lacrosse preseason poll announced by NAC

North Adams, MA- The MCLA Men's Lacrosse team has been voted to finish sixth in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) preseason poll.  The Trailblazers begin their inaugural season tomorrow against Mount Saint Vincent.

SUNY Canton collected six first-place votes and 48 points to earn the top spot in the coaches' poll. SUNY Delhi claimed the remaining first-place vote and 43 points to land in second place.

Maine Maritime Academy and Husson University share third-place with 31 points apiece. Northern Vermont-Lyndon landed in fifth place with 19 points, while Thomas College and NAC-newcomer MCLA share sixth place with 12 points each.

This year marks the second Men's Lacrosse championship alliance with the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC). The top-two regular season finishers from each conference will face off (#1 NAC vs. #2 NECC and #1 NECC vs. #2 NAC) in semifinal games for the right to compete for the NAC Championship title. The top-two seeds are determined by regular season standings in each conference.

In 2019, SUNY Canton and SUNY Delhi earned the #1 and #2 seeds in the NAC and competed against NECC teams Dean College and New England College, respectively, in the semifinals. New England College prevailed in the alliance championship with a 17-8 victory over SUNY Canton.

Early season games are underway, and conference games begin on March 14. Click HERE to view the 2020 NAC Men's Lacrosse composite schedule.
