Men's Soccer falters late in loss to Lehman in CIAO Classic

North Adams, MA- Lehman College's Ardit Belegu headed home the lone goal in the 86th minute to lift the Lightning past the host MCLA Trailblazers 1-0 this afternoon in the final game of the 2017 CIAO Classic.  With the win, Lehman improves 2-2 while the Trailblazers are now 1-3.

After 85 minutes of scoreless action, Lehman finally broke through after a crazy sequence.  Belegu got behind the defense and ripped a shot that hit the post.  The rebound went to Adewale Adewusi, who's shot was saved by a sprawling Kamron Anderson, however the rebound went up in the air and Belegu headed it home for the game winner.  The goal was his first of the season.

The Trailblazers had a couple of chances late but couldn't net the equalizer.  Lehman's Chris Mulholland snared a pair of saves in the win.

Lehman owned a commanding 26-9 shot advantage over the Trailblazers and a 9-3 edge in corners.  The game was a bit chippy as the teams combined for 27 fouls.

Anderson was outstanding all day collecting 10 saves, but had to absorb the loss.

MCLA will return to action on Tuesday when they host Cobleskill.
