Men's Soccer blanked 3-0 by nationally ranked Skidmore

Saratoga, NY- Host Skidmore College tallied three first half goals as they remained unbeaten by defeating the MCLA Men's Soccer team 3-0 this afternoon in Saratoga.  The Thoroughbreds, currently ranked 22nd nationally, improve to 4-0-1 on the season.  MCLA drops to 2-5 with the loss.

Skidmore got on the board just five minutes into play.  David Braman headed home a corner kick off the foot of Brennan Mitrolka making it 1-0 in favor of the hosts.  The goal was his first of the season.

In the 17th minute, Ted Roach would connect on another header, this time off a throw in from Josh Ridenhour for his first goal of 2017.  His marker gave Skidmore a quick 2-0 lead.  In the 30th minute, Thoroughbred Inigo Ugarte took a through pass from Kevin Santos and chipped it past MCLA keeper Kamron Anderson for a commanding 3-0 lead.  The score would remain that way until halftime as Skidmore outshot MCLA 12-3.

Neither team could find the net in the closing half of play and Skidmore remained unbeaten.

Skidmore outshot MCLA 19-9 on the afternoon and held a 7-2 edge in corners.

Sebastian Bosch earned the win in net stopping one shot during the first half of play.  He was relieved by Pearse Martin who combined with Bosch to earn the shutout.

Anderson stopped nine shots in a losing effort for MCLA.

The Trailblazers return to Shewcraft Field on Friday night when they host Westfield State at 6pm.
