Men's Tennis rolls past Sage 7-2 in non conference play

Troy, NY- The MCLA Men's Tennis team swept the doubles matches and then rode that momentum to a 7-2 victory over the Sage Gators this afternoon in Troy.  With the win, MCLA is now 3-5 on the season while Sage drops to 1-7.

MCLA won three hard fought doubles matches with Aaron Goldsmith and Rob Wabshinak winning 8-4 in the top spot.  The duo of Taylor Krowitz and Michael Rooney were victorious 8-3 in the second match, while Jeff Mason and Tyler Russell held on for an 8-5 in the third match.

Sage took the point in the number one singles slot, however Wabshinak and Krowitz held serve by winning in the second and third slots.  Wabshinak won in straight sets 6-4, 6-3, while Krowitz dug deep to pull off a 6-1, 4-6, 10-7 win.

Rooney also won in three sets in the third singles match while Russell cruised to a point in the sixth slot to round out the scoring for MCLA.

The Trailblazers wrap up their regular season slate with a pair of NAC games this weekend.  They travel to Lyndon State on Saturday and Thomas College on Sunday.
