Trailblazer tennis drops 9-0 decision to Colby Sawyer, will be three seed in NAC playoffs

New London, NH- The Colby Sawyer men's tennis team captured the NAC regular season championship after defeating the MCLA Trailblazers 9-0 this afternoon in the conference finale for both teams.  The Chargers remain unbeaten in league play at 5-0 and will enter this weekend's postseason tournament as the top seed.  

MCLA is now 4-5 overall and finishes at 3-2 in the conference.

CSC took control early as they swept through doubles.  They dropped only two games on their way to an early 3-0 edge.  Gustav Jigrup and Ross Kenney won 8-0 over Aaron Goldsmith and Jared Freeman in the top spot.  Matt Burke and Cam Lynch defeated Matt Bluteau and Charles Najimy 8-2 in the second matchup.  Erik Antonacci and Mike White blanked Mohamed Mahrous and Reydel Santana 8-0 in the third doubles matchup.

In singles play, CSC won all the matches in straight sets.  Matt Williamson defeated Nick Castle in the most competitive match of the day 6-3, 7-5.  Jigrup, Alex Wright, Burke, Lynch, and Antonacci all won in easy fashion.

MCLA will be the three seed this weekend and face Thomas, who earned the second seed.  The Terriers defeated the Trailblazers earlier this season.  The match will be played on Saturday at 10am tournament host Castleton University.
