MCLA vs Babson Box Score

Clermont, Fl- Multiple errors cost the women's sofball team two losses in their doubleheader against Hope College and Babson University. The Trailblazers were shut out by Hope 11-0 and were stopped in their tracks by Babson University 8-2. MCLA is now 3-7 for the season while Hope is 9-2 and Babson moves forward with 10-4.

In their first game, MCLA had five hits, but couldn't push across any runs. Hope started out the first inning with a single run. They addedd to their lead in the third inning, scoring four more runs, including a three-rin homer off Rachel Quackenbush by Peyton Wells. Hope would tack on six more including another homerun off from Wells, this time of MCLOA reliever Katelyn Henault. The game ended in the fifth inning by mercy rule with the final score 11-0 Hope.

The Trailblazers couldn't gain enough momentum in their nightcap against Babson University. Babson came out strong, bringing in three runs in the first inning off of errors from the Trailblazers. Multiple errors in the third would cost MCLA as well, as Babson led 5-0 going into the bottom of the third. The Trailblazers rallied in the third and lowered the lead after Alexandra Romano and Amanda Meczywor scored. The Beavers would respond and coast to an 8-2 victory. 

Michaela DiNicola went 2-3 at bat against Hope, followed by Angelica Perfido, Julie Watson, and Meczywor who were 1-2.

In the Babson game, Abigail Lucas and Romano were 1-2 at the plate.

The Trailblazers are back on the field tomorrow at 9:00 versus Tufts and 11:00 am against MIT, as they wrap up their spring training.
