Fitchburg, MA- The MCLA Women's basketball is getting hot at the right time, winning their third straight MASCAC game by defeating Fitchburg State 60-54.  MCLA is now 15-8 overall, 7-4 in the league.  Jen Wehner had her third 20-20 game of the season finishing with 24 points and 21 rebounds in the win.

With the loss, the Falcons drop to 11-11 overall, 5-6 in the MASCAC.

The first half saw five lead changes and three ties as the hosts took a 25-23 lead into the locker.  Fitchburg would score the first nine points of the second period, building their largest lead of the night at 34-23 with 18:23 to play.

After MCLA cut the lead to three on a few occasions, the Falcons would push the lead back to nine at 48-39 at the 8:30 mark before MCLA would make its key run.

MCLA would use a 10-1 run to knot the game at 49 apiece with 4:55 left.  Wehner would key the run, using an old fashioned three point play along with a jumper from beyond the arc.  She also added a pair of free throws in the spurt.

The Trailblazers would take their first lead of the half on a pair of Olivia McMullen free throws, taking a brief 54-52 lead.  After Rebecca Goreham tied the game with a jumper, another McMullen free throw put MCLA on top for keeps.  The visitors would go on to hold the Falcons scoreless the rest of the way and earn the win.
