Women's hoop runs into hot Framingham State team, drops 99-42 decision on road

Framingham, MA- Alycia Rackliffe went for 22 points, all in the first half, and 13 rebounds while classmate Reagan Mulherin was perfect from the floor lifting the Framingham State women's basketball team to a resounding 99-42 win over the MCLA Trailblazers.  The win keeps the Rams atop the MASCAC at 9-1 while MCLA drops their sixth straight in falling to 2-8 in the conference.

The Rams opened on fire and never really cooled.  Mulherin and Rackliffe combined for 24 first quarter points as they opened up a 32-9 lead.  Mulherin was 4-4 in the quarter.  FSU never slowed in the second quarter beginning with a 15-0 run to open the quarter en route to an overwhelming 65-19 halftime lead.  Rackliffe accounted for 12 more points in the quarter to lead the offense.

The Rams shot 24-33 (73%) in the half including a sizzling 10-13 from three point range.  While the offense was spectacular, the defense was just as dominant.  They held MCLA to just 19 points on 6-32 (19%) shooting.

Both teams substituted freely in the second half as every Ram cracked into the scoring column.

Mulherin was a perfect 6-6 from the floor including 5-5 from three point land to end with 17 points.  Lauren Donahue added 11 points, while Sarah Palace, Mary Kate O'Day, and Quinn O'Connell each had 10.  FSU shot 58% in the game after the torrid start and forced 22 turnovers.

No Trailblazers were in double figures as McKenzie Robinson and Kayla Hotaling each had 8 points.  

The Trailblazers will look to snap their skid when they celebrate senior day on Saturday against Fitchburg State at 3pm.
