Women's Basketball celebrates Senior Day, but falls to Framingham State in season finale 62-52

North Adams, MA- Visiting Framingham State placed four players in double figures and Mary Kate O'Day collected a game best 18 points to lead the Rams to a 62-52 win over MCLA this afternoon in the regular season finale for both teams.  The Rams (15-9, 9-3 MASCAC) have earned the second seed in next week's MASCAC championship and will have a bye until the semifinal round.  MCLA ends their season at 6-18 and was 2-10 in the conference.

O'Day was 6-19 from the floor for her 18 points and finished off the double double with 10 boards.  Tiphani Harris notched her own double double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.  Raeghan Mulherin added 12 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 steals for FSU, while Emily Velozo ended with 11 points.

Prior to the contest, MCLA honored their lone senior in Emily Moulton.  The senior responded with one of her best performances of the season with 15 points and 11 rebounds.  Mckenzie Robinson and Kylah Langston each ended with 10 points.  Robinson broke the single season assist record late in the contest when her pass on a Langston bucket in the fourth quarter gave her 114 on the season breaking the mark of Alie Dobrovolc in 2013.

The Rams took control in the first quarter after MCLA led 9-4 after Moulton's jumper made it 9-4.  The Rams would outscore MCLA 17-2 to close the quarter and lead 21-11.  They would never trail again.  They eventually led 34-24 at halftime and the lead ballooned to as many as 18 points in the fourth quarter before MCLA made it interesting.

The Trailblazers got within ten, but couldn't get closer as the Rams went cold in the final few minutes.

Neither team shot the ball well as MCLA ended at just 31% from the floor while the Rams were at 36%.
